I decided to write an article about ancient African civilizations and their voyages. New evidence has recently been found which states that the Olmec civilization of ancient Mexico was none other than western Africans.
I have an African friend who told me one day in history class his instructor informed the students that they could "skip" the chapter which gave information on ancient African civilizations. However, he made sure the class didn't skip the chapter on African slavery in the Americas. When my friend raised his hand and asked about this the teacher just told him that they needed to get on with the lesson.
Why are Ancient African civilizations overlooked in conventional history classes? We intend to review some little known information here. Recent discoveries made in the area of linguistics and other techniques have shown that without a shadow of a doubt, the ancient Olmec civilization of Mexico, called the Xi People, emerged from West Africa and were of Mende ethnic stock. The Mende Script found in various monuments in Mexico are exactly the same as the script used by the Mende People of Africa. Sources indicate that the ancient Africans would have arrived sometime around 1500 B.C, even though other sources push the date as far back as 5000 years before Christ.
The ancient West African civilizations not only traded with the Ivory coast, they also carried on trading relationships with the Phoenicians and even begin expanding into the Americas. Their is a huge amount of evidence supporting an ancient African presence in the Americas, especially in Mexico. At this time the African civilizations also produced great works of Terracotta, and Iron technology had been heavily utilized.
